The Emeco Kong Chair by Philippe Starck is a timeless design icon, created for exceptional durability, refined craftsmanship, and generational longevity. Originally designed for the Kong restaurant in Paris, it was conceived as an elegant one-armed seating solution that allows effortless movement and graceful entry and exit in bar and hospitality environments.

Handcrafted in Hanover, Pennsylvania, the Kong Chair is made from 80% recycled aluminum and built through a highly precise manufacturing process. Each chair requires the hand welding of 24 separate aluminum components, followed by approximately 8 hours of meticulous hand polishing and hand-brushed finishing, resulting in a refined surface texture with a distinctive artisanal character.

Designed for lifelong use, the chair is made to order and guaranteed for life, reflecting Emeco’s commitment to sustainability, craftsmanship, and enduring quality. Its sculptural form combines strength with elegance, making it suitable for both commercial hospitality spaces and sophisticated interiors.

Equipped with standard soft TPU glides, the chair performs reliably across all surfaces, including outdoor environments. Alternative glide options are available for specialized applications.

Optional Upgrade:
Upholstered Seat Pad in polyurethane with Kvadrat Haku 0191 fabric is available upon request. Seat pads comply with CAL 133 fire safety standards. All upholstered accessories are hand made.
