Fire Magic Echelon E540d 30-Inch Hoodless Drop-In Gas Grill

The Fire Magic Echelon E540d Hoodless Drop-In Gas Grill delivers the performance of a traditional gas grill in a modern open-top design. Fire Magic describes this model as a flat-top, hoodless grill designed to keep cooking open and interactive, making it especially suited to outdoor kitchens and entertainment areas. It is available in both Natural Gas and Liquid Propane. 

The E540d provides a 30" x 18" cooking surface with 540 square inches of primary grilling area and a 30" x 8" warming rack providing 240 square inches. Its stainless steel burner system delivers 54,000 BTU of main-burner output.

Fire Magic equips the hoodless E540d with 304 stainless steel tube burners, electric spark ignition, and a contemporary black-glass-accented control panel. The ignition system operates from a 110V/120V electrical connection. 

Unlike the hooded E540d-6TAN(P), this E540d-0T0N(P) configuration has no hood and no hood-mounted analog thermometer. The low-profile design measures only 2-1/2 inches high above the main body reference shown in Fire Magic's current specifications guide.

Fire Magic's current Product Specifications Guide lists the hoodless E540d with a 41-3/4" x 20-3/4" x 18" cutout and general dimensions of 45" wide x 24" deep x 2-1/2" high, with the drawing's H dimension at 1 inch. 

Important Cutout Dimension Discrepancy

Fire Magic currently publishes two slightly different cutout measurements for the hoodless E540d:

The current technical specifications guide identifies the hoodless model and gives the larger 41-3/4" x 20-3/4" x 18" dimensions.  The live product page currently lists 41-1/2" x 20-1/2" x 18". 

For the Shopify specification field, I would use:

Hoodless vs. Hooded E540d

Fire Magic lists both models separately in its current product catalog: the E540d-6TAN(P) as the hooded Echelon drop-in grill and E540d-0T0N(P) as the Echelon drop-in grill without a hood. 

Important Thermometer Note

The hoodless E540d should not be described as having the analog thermometer found on the hooded E540d. Fire Magic specifically lists the analog thermometer among the hooded model's features, while it is absent from the no-hood model's feature list.

Installation Note

Fire Magic maintains dedicated installation documentation for the Echelon Countertop Grill and a separate Echelon Countertop Grill Drop-In Insulating Liner in its current manual library. Installers should follow the applicable current manual for enclosure construction, ventilation, gas supply, electrical requirements, and combustible clearances.
